A former Liberal Democrat member, Inigo Rowland, faces stalking charges after allegedly repeatedly trying to enter MP Ed Davey’s home in 2024.
Lady Emily Davey testified in Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court that she prayed while sitting on the toilet during an incident in September when Inigo Rowland, a former Liberal Democrat member, allegedly tried to enter her home.
Rowland, 58, is on trial for stalking and harassment over multiple visits between June and October 2024, during which he repeatedly demanded to speak with her husband, MP Ed Davey.
She described feeling terrified, especially with her two children— including a 17-year-old son with severe disabilities— and a live-in carer present.
A live-in carer confirmed Rowland shouted from the driveway and refused to leave.
Davey said Rowland had previously focused criticism on her husband at public meetings, raised minor complaints like a 5mm toilet misalignment, and made offensive remarks about women.
The court heard the family’s address was not publicly listed.
Sir Ed Davey attended the trial, supporting his wife, and the case continues.
