Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone has attracted $11.6 billion in investments over 3.5 years, half from Chinese investors, according to SCzone Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dein.
He made the announcement at a Cairo conference aimed at boosting trade ties with China’s Jiangsu Province.
The zone, established in 2015 and spanning 461 square kilometers, features six ports and four industrial areas with strong infrastructure and incentives.
Chinese investments have exceeded $3 billion in the China-Egypt TEDA zone and $700 million in the West Qantara area, supporting industrial, service, and logistics projects.
