Bill Blakeman and two others honored with life memberships for decades of service to Marine Rescue NSW.
Bill Blakeman, unit commander of Marine Rescue Merimbula, was awarded life membership by Marine Rescue NSW for 17 years of service, recognizing his leadership in strengthening the unit’s operations, infrastructure, and safety culture.
He joined in 2007 and helped secure a second rescue vessel and upgrade facilities.
Alongside him, Bruce Mitchell of Shoalhaven and 95-year-old Frances Teal of Lake Macquarie received life memberships for decades of service, mentorship, and contributions to maritime safety.
The honors were presented on November 22 in Cronulla.
