A new report identifies Bath Road and Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard as Kingston’s most accident-prone intersection with 21 collisions from January to June, followed by Princess Street and Macdonald Boulevard (17) and Gardiners Road and Princess Street (16).
Most crashes occurred in winter, even in clear, dry weather, with rear-end collisions common on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Gardiners and Princess Streets.
Over 1,480 collisions were recorded, including two fatalities, with Sundays and Mondays seeing the highest numbers.
Distracted and impaired driving contributed to incidents, including 15 involving alcohol or drugs.
Pedestrian and cyclist collisions totaled 19 and 8, respectively.
Rain affected 126 crashes, snow 17.
