Azerbaijan marked Kalbajar City Day on November 25, 2025, the first celebration since the region’s liberation in 2020, under a 2023 presidential decree.
The event, organized by the President’s Special Representative and the Kalbajar Restoration Service with support from the Ministry of Culture, included a moment of silence for fallen soldiers, cultural performances, art exhibitions, traditional craft workshops, and a concert with fireworks.
Activities highlighted the region’s history, heritage, and post-liberation revival, with displays like “From Lens to History” and “The Palette of Kalbajar,” as well as local food and mountain herb teas.
Public and political figures attended, underscoring national pride and the ongoing return of displaced residents.
The celebration will be held annually.
