Sam King runs 74 ultramarathons in 74 days to honor his mother’s recovery, raising funds for brain injury support.
Sam King, 32, is attempting to break the world record for most consecutive ultramarathons by a man by running 74 in 74 days to honor his mother Penny, who suffered a brain injury in January and is recovering slowly.
He quit his job, returned home to Frinton, and launched Project 74, raising over £38,600—nearly £45,000 total—for Headway UK.
Running about 50 kilometers daily, he’s faced injuries, harsh weather, and mental strain but continues with support from friends and the public.
Once a 19-stone gaming addict, Sam transformed his life after his first marathon in 2018.
His final run is set for December 14 outside Frinton Free Church, where his mother attends.
