Robert Easom was convicted of severely injuring his ex-partner, leaving her tetraplegic, after years of abuse.
Robert Easom, 56, was convicted on November 24, 2025, at Preston Crown Court of a Section 18 assault after a years-long campaign of coercive and controlling abuse that left his former partner, Trudi Burgess, 56, tetraplegic.
The abuse, spanning from 2017 to February 2025, included physical violence, threats, psychological manipulation, and a final attack on February 17, 2025, when Burgess attempted to leave, resulting in a severed spinal cord.
Easom had previously admitted to two counts of actual bodily harm and coercive control.
He is set to be sentenced on February 27, 2025.
Authorities praised Burgess for her courage and urged victims of domestic abuse to seek help.
