Olivia Codije, a Togo-born student, won an award for fighting campus food insecurity through fundraising and outreach.
Ameyo “Olivia” Codije, a third-year psychology and data analytics student at Queens University of Charlotte and a Togo-born, North Carolina-raised Charlotte Talent Initiative scholar, won the Outstanding Student Philanthropist Award for her work combating campus food insecurity.
She led fundraising efforts that provided a refrigerator for the campus food pantry, organized a student cook-off using pantry items to raise awareness, and volunteered with Nourish Up and interned with The Merancas Foundation.
Her dedication was praised by Queens University Chaplain Adrian Bird.
The event also honored alumna Claire Lechtenberg with the Outstanding Emerging Fundraising Professional Award for raising over $1 million in two years for Charlotte’s nonprofit arthouse cinema, The Independent Picture House.
