Nova Scotia approved a 432-MW wind project in Guysborough County, with 58 environmental conditions, set for 2026 construction.
The Nova Scotia government has approved the environmental assessment for the 432-megawatt Setapuktuk Wind Project in Guysborough County, a joint venture between EverWind NS Holdings Ltd. and the Membertou First Nation.
The project, set to begin construction in late 2026, will include 54 turbines and power a green hydrogen and ammonia facility in Point Tupper.
The province imposed 58 conditions to protect the environment and public health.
Construction is expected to create 350 to 400 temporary jobs and 20 to 35 permanent positions.
The approval supports Nova Scotia’s renewable energy targets and Indigenous economic development.
