Matt Cord returns to WMMR as midday host, replacing Pierre Robert, who died in October.
Matt Cord, a Philadelphia radio veteran and 76ers in-arena announcer, will return to WMMR on December 1 as the new midday host, succeeding longtime host Pierre Robert, who died in October.
Cord, who previously hosted at WMMR in the 1990s and currently leads mornings at sister station WMGK, will bring decades of experience and a deep connection to the station’s legacy.
WMMR program director Chuck Damico said Cord’s appointment honors Robert’s spirit, and the station will host a tribute concert on December 17 featuring the Hooters, Shinedown, Halestorm, and Collective Soul.
A replacement for Cord at WMGK will be announced soon.
