Ghana's High Court orders a new election in Kpandai over voting irregularities, nullifying NPP's win.
A Ghanaian High Court has ordered a rerun of the December 2024 Kpandai parliamentary election, citing procedural violations at 41 polling stations, including irregularities in Form 8A documents and the relocation of the collation center without proper notice.
The ruling, issued on November 24, 2025, by Justice Emmanuel Brew Plange, nullified the original results, which had declared NPP’s Matthew Nyindam the winner by a nearly 4,000-vote margin.
Nyindam, maintaining his legitimacy, has filed an appeal and a stay of execution, asserting the certified pink sheets confirm his victory and accusing the opposition of political interference.
The NDC welcomed the decision as a defense of electoral integrity, while the NPP criticized the ruling as overly broad and damaging to democracy.
A full judgment is expected Friday.
