On November 24, 2025, Prof Benedicta Fosu-Mensah of Ghana’s ruling NDC reaffirmed the government’s commitment to its 24-hour economy policy, calling it a key part of President Mahama’s development agenda.
She said the initiative, aimed at boosting growth, productivity, and job creation in sectors like manufacturing, health, and digital services, goes beyond extended hours and includes investments in energy, security, and business incentives.
Several ministries are already aligning operations to support the rollout, with the goal of enhancing competitiveness, strengthening local industries, and creating youth employment opportunities.
