Delhi High Court blocks Tesla Power India from using Tesla brand on products due to trademark infringement.
The Delhi High Court has temporarily barred Tesla Power India from using the Tesla name, logos, or branding on batteries, inverters, UPS systems, and EV-related products, citing consumer confusion and trademark infringement.
The order, issued in response to a 2024 lawsuit by Elon Musk’s Tesla Inc., upholds a prior commitment by Tesla Power’s CEO not to manufacture or market electric vehicles under the Tesla brand.
Despite claims that the company only produces batteries and had removed branding from e-Ashwa scooters, Tesla Inc. alleged ongoing violations, including the sale of 699 branded scooters.
The court’s interim relief maintains the ban until the case concludes, supporting Tesla’s market entry in India, where it has opened two showrooms and sold over 100 Model Y SUVs.
El Tribunal Superior de Delhi impide que Tesla Power India use la marca Tesla en sus productos debido a la infracción de marcas comerciales.
