The World Bank’s IFC, Johor state, and Ditrolic Energy have launched the $6 billion Southern Johor Renewable Energy Corridor, a major clean energy project set to deliver up to 4 gigawatts of solar power and 5.12 gigawatt-hours of storage across a 10,000-acre site in Johor.
Announced on November 25, 2025, the initiative supports the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, advances regional energy integration under the ASEAN Power Grid, and enables cross-border electricity exports to Singapore.
The project, aligned with Johor’s Renewable Energy Policy 2030, aims to drive industrial growth, create around 125,000 jobs, attract foreign investment, and strengthen sustainable development through joint development, technical support, and financing.
