A 16-year-old boy has been charged and remanded in custody after allegedly slashing an 80-year-old man during an attempted armed robbery at Lilydale Railway Station carpark in Melbourne on November 23, 2025. Police say the teen, riding a scooter, approached the man around 1:50 p.m., demanded his wallet, and attacked him with a knife when he refused. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a medical center. The suspect was arrested on Main Street shortly after and faces charges including attempted armed robbery, assault, and possessing a controlled weapon. He is scheduled to appear in children’s court.
