Police in South Australia are searching six new mine shafts in the hunt for missing 4-year-old Gus Lamont.
South Australian police have resumed the search for four-year-old Gus Lamont, who went missing on September 27 near Oak Park Station, focusing on six previously unknown, uncovered mine shafts 5.5 to 12 kilometers from the homestead.
The three-day operation, led by Task Force Horizon and STAR Group, involves specialized equipment and aims to explore areas not previously searched on foot.
This follows extensive prior efforts, including a 10-day ground and aerial search covering 470 square kilometers and the draining of a large dam—ruling out drowning.
No evidence of foul play has been found, and the family remains fully cooperative.
The investigation continues.
