A man damaged a Christmas tree’s lights in Ireland, but the holiday event will still go on as scheduled.
A man climbed a Christmas tree in Portarlington, County Laois, late Saturday night into early Sunday morning, causing damage to its lighting system.
The volunteer group behind the tree, preparing for a 29 November switch-on event, shared a photo on social media, condemned the act as vandalism, and reported it to authorities.
The individual later contacted the group, and the matter was resolved.
Officials confirmed the event will proceed as planned, with Santa Claus and a Santa Truck parade scheduled for 7 p.m. on 29 November.
