Israel killed Hezbollah’s top military commander in a Beirut airstrike, breaching a year-long ceasefire.
Israel killed Haytham Ali Tabtabai, Hezbollah’s top military commander and newly appointed chief of staff, in an airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs on November 23, 2025, during a year-long ceasefire.
Tabtabai, a veteran leader since the 1980s and head of the elite Radwan Force, played a central role in rebuilding Hezbollah’s military after the 2023–2024 conflict.
The strike, which killed at least five and injured 28, marks a rare post-ceasefire operation.
Hezbollah confirmed his death, calling it a crossing of a “red line,” while Israel stated he was responsible for planning attacks against it.
The U.S. had previously offered up to $5 million for information on him.
