Israel approves plan to bring 5,800 Bnei Menashe Jews from India to Israel by 2030, with 1,200 arriving by end of 2026.
Israel has approved a plan to complete the immigration of the entire Bnei Menashe Jewish community from northeastern India by 2030, with 1,200 individuals expected to arrive by the end of 2026 and a total of about 5,800 by 2030.
The immigrants, who claim descent from one of the lost tribes of Israel, will be settled primarily in the Galilee region and other northern cities.
The Jewish Agency will oversee and fund the process, including preparation, transportation, and integration.
The move, announced on November 23, 2025, marks a major step in fulfilling the community’s long-standing aspiration to relocate to Israel under the Law of Return.
