An Indian man visiting Canada was deported after being convicted of harassing two teenage girls near a school.
A 51-year-old Indian man visiting Canada to see his newborn grandchild was convicted of criminally harassing two teenage girls outside a high school in Sarnia, Ontario, leading to his deportation and a permanent ban from re-entry.
He repeatedly approached the girls in the school’s smoking area in September, attempting photos, making unwanted physical contact, and discussing drugs and alcohol.
Though he did not speak English, he was arrested twice and pleaded guilty to criminal harassment.
The court imposed a short jail sentence, three years of probation with strict conditions, including a 100-meter exclusion from schools and youth areas, and a ban on contact with minors under 16 except his grandchild.
Victims described lasting emotional trauma.
Canada Border Services Agency took custody, expediting his departure despite a planned return flight in December.
