Ghana honors slain officer Cosmos Dakurah on Nov. 23; suspects in his ambush remain jailed.
The Ghana Immigration Service honored 24-year-old Assistant Immigration Control Officer Cosmos Dakurah, killed in a November 2 ambush in the Upper East Region, during a solemn ceremony on November 23, 2025.
Dakurah, who served in Operation Calm Life and had specialized training in counter-terrorism, was remembered by family and colleagues as humble and dedicated.
His fiancée and siblings shared emotional tributes, and senior officials paid respects with gun volleys and wreaths.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has sent a duplicate docket in the case of slain Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah to the Office of the Attorney General for legal guidance, delaying proceedings until advice is received.
The suspects, Bright Aweh and Thomas Zigah, remain in custody, with the case adjourned to December 3, 2025.
