Downtown Chillicothe launched its 2025 holiday season on November 21 with the “Shine On Chillicothe” event, featuring Santa Claus lighting a 35-foot artificial tree in Yoctangee Park despite light rain. The steel-framed tree replaces a dying live tree and will remain until a new live tree is large enough. The official ribbon-cutting is set for noon on November 25, with the Holiday Open House running from 12 to 5 p.m. The event included festive lights, activities at the park’s cabooses, and community gatherings.
