Odisha police clashed with a dacoity gang, injuring three and arresting eight in Sundargarh district.

On November 22–23, 2025, Odisha police conducted a major operation in Sundargarh district, injuring three members of an interstate dacoity gang during gunfights near Rourkela. The gang, linked to a group led by Chanda Nayak from Jharkhand, was involved in multiple robberies across Odisha and Jharkhand. After a tip-off, police intercepted the suspects near Limsa and Kucheita villages, recovering firearms, vehicles, ammunition, and cash. Eight gang members were arrested, with three injured suspects hospitalized. The operation disrupted a criminal network responsible for armed robberies in areas including Koira, Banki, and Koida.
