A new road victim support service launching April 1, 2025, in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Milton Keynes will provide trauma-informed advocacy, emotional, and practical help to those injured or bereaved in serious road crashes.
Funded with £57,395 for one year, the initiative by Brake and the Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner’s office will complement existing police support, with referrals from Family Liaison Officers and the Serious Collision Investigation Team.
It aims to aid recovery and resilience, especially for victims of life-altering injuries or fatalities, following 44 fatal and 561 serious injuries in the region in 2024.
