A four-day eye camp, Op Drishti, concluded on November 22, 2025, in Jammu and Kashmir, screening over 2,000 people and performing more than 400 surgeries, including complex treatments for cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal conditions.
Organized by Northern Command and Army Hospital (Research and Referral), New Delhi, the initiative served military personnel, civilians, and war widows from remote districts like Udhampur, Doda, and Poonch.
Led by Brigadier SK Mishra, the surgical team used advanced equipment and received support from a specially chartered IAF aircraft.
High-level officials, including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi, praised the mission, which restored sight to beneficiaries including a 96-year-old woman and a 72-year-old villager who became an advocate for others.
The camp exemplified inter-service coordination and the military’s commitment to public welfare in underserved regions.
