On November 19, Killdeer High School in North Dakota held its first cultural assembly with the MHA Nation—Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara tribes—aimed at promoting understanding and respect for Indigenous heritage.
Organized by teachers and parent Jessica Howling Wolf, an MHA Nation member, the event featured historical presentations, traditional drumming and dancing, and hands-on participation, including a Friendship Circle.
It sought to affirm Indigenous students' identities and build community ties, with plans to make it an annual tradition.
