Indian defense minister says Sindh may one day return to India, citing historical ties and supporting persecuted minorities via the CAA.
Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on November 23, 2025, that Sindh, currently part of Pakistan, remains culturally and historically linked to India, citing deep ties to the Indus Valley Civilization and the sacred status of the Indus River for both Hindus and Muslims.

Advani’s view that borders can change, suggesting Sindh “may return to India again,” while reaffirming India’s commitment to persecuted religious minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan through the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), enacted in 2019.
The CAA grants citizenship to non-Muslim minorities who entered India before December 31, 2014, and faced persecution.
