India builds new security camp in Chhattisgarh to boost anti-Maoist efforts and deliver services.
Indian security forces have established a new forward operating base, the Surakhsa Evam Jan Suvidha Camp, in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district near the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border, following a major anti-Maoist operation.
Set up on November 4, the camp supports CRPF and CoBRA units, enhances security in a previously insurgent-held area, and delivers essential services like roads, electricity, water, healthcare, schools, and mobile connectivity.
It will also serve as a training center for jungle warfare.
Since 2024, Bijapur has seen over 200 Maoists killed, 749 surrender, and 1,006 arrested, with 22 security camps now operational.
The site has already led to the safe defusal of 14 IEDs.
