Dubai's Crown Prince launches Erth Dubai Award to collect stories for cultural preservation, with AED5M in prizes and submissions open until Jan 15, 2026.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has launched the Erth Dubai Award, a new initiative to preserve the city’s cultural and social heritage by collecting personal and community stories.
Open to residents and citizens, the award features two categories—individuals/families and institutions—with seven sub-categories including oral traditions and family legacies.
Submissions, accepted until January 15, 2026, can be made via the Erth Dubai website or app.
AED5 million in prizes, including a AED1 million grand prize, will be awarded.
All contributions will be archived in a digital collection for public and academic access, supporting Dubai’s effort to balance rapid development with cultural preservation.
