DHS Secretary Noem gave TSA agents $10K bonuses for unpaid work during the record 43-day shutdown, funded by leftover 2025 funds.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem awarded $10,000 bonuses to select TSA agents at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on November 22, 2025, for working unpaid during the 43-day government shutdown, the longest in U.S. history.
The bonuses, funded by carryover FY2025 resources, recognized agents’ dedication to maintaining air travel safety.
Noem also announced a $1 billion federal investment in airport security technology, with Las Vegas as a test site, aiming to improve screening efficiency and passenger experience.
Similar bonuses were given to TSA agents in Boston earlier in the week.
