A Bengaluru man reports losing ₹48 lakh to a fake Ayurvedic healer who promised sexual health cures but caused kidney damage.
A Bengaluru software engineer has filed a police complaint alleging he was defrauded of nearly ₹48 lakh by a self-styled Ayurvedic healer, identified as “Vijay Guruji,” after being lured by promises of quick cures for sexual health issues.
The man, who married in 2023, claims he spent large sums on expensive herbal remedies, including rare products priced at tens of thousands per gram, after being directed to the healer by a roadside advertisement.
Despite following the treatment regimen, his condition worsened, leading to kidney damage.
He says the healer threatened him if he stopped treatment.
Police have registered an FIR under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and an investigation is ongoing.
