Three cars stolen in Fife while left running to defrost; police warn against leaving vehicles unattended.
Police in Fife warn of "frost-jacking" after three cars were stolen on November 21 between 8 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. while owners left them unattended with engines running to defrost in freezing weather.
The vehicles— an Audi A3, black Hyundai i40, and blue BMW X3— were taken in Glenrothes, Kinghorn, and Kirkcaldy, respectively, but recovered shortly after.
Authorities urge drivers to avoid leaving cars unattended during defrosting, recommending manual scrapers, de-icing products, or windshield covers instead.
Detective Inspector Sammi Davidson is appealing for information to prevent future thefts.
