A recount confirms Paul Dinn’s 106-vote win over Dan Bobbett in Topsail-Paradise, preserving the PC majority.
A judicial recount in Newfoundland and Labrador’s Topsail-Paradise riding has confirmed Progressive Conservative Paul Dinn’s narrow victory over Liberal candidate Dan Bobbett, with Dinn winning by 106 votes.
The recount, conducted in the Supreme Court following a Liberal request, reviewed over 6,300 ballots and upheld the initial result, with Dinn receiving 3,029 votes—two fewer than originally reported.
The outcome preserves the PC Party’s 21-seat majority in the 40-member legislature, ending a decade of Liberal rule.
The NDP gained two seats, and two independents were re-elected, with no changes to the overall seat distribution.
