A man was shot and killed by airport police at St. Louis Lambert International Airport early Friday, November 21, 2025, after allegedly wielding a knife and refusing to comply with officers’ orders in a restricted area near Terminal 1’s MetroLink station.
Officers deployed tasers but fired their weapons after the man continued advancing.
The incident occurred around 1:05 a.m., prompting a three-hour closure of the light rail station, with shuttle buses used to transport passengers.
No other injuries were reported.
The two officers involved had six months and one year of service, respectively, and prior law enforcement experience.
Authorities confirmed the man was not a traveler and are investigating his presence and intentions.
The St. Louis County Police Department is leading the investigation, and airport operations remained normal throughout.
