A former Regina cop pleaded guilty to misusing police databases for personal relationships, leading to his resignation and the chief's firing.
Robert Eric Semenchuck, a former Regina police officer with 22 years of service, pleaded guilty on November 21, 2025, to breach of trust and unauthorized use of a computer for using police databases to pursue personal and intimate relationships.
The investigation began in 2023 following a public complaint, leading to his suspension and eventual resignation in April 2025.
Sentencing is set for January 23, 2026, with a pre-sentencing report pending.
The Regina Police Service has since implemented new safeguards, including enhanced database auditing and mandatory training.
