Fairfax County and Penzance broke ground on a 45-megawatt digital infrastructure project in Chantilly on November 21, 2025, the largest such investment by Penzance to date.
The 240,000-square-foot facility, set for completion by mid-2027, will be operated by AWS and designed to support AI, cloud, and quantum computing.
It will include over 67 acres of public green space, high-efficiency systems, low-emission generators, and sustainable design features meeting LEED-Data Center Silver standards.
The project aims to boost Northern Virginia’s tech leadership while prioritizing environmental and community benefits.
