A Dublin man accused of threatening his wife with a knife over infertility issues has been denied bail.
A 47-year-old Dublin man, Mohammad Masum, has been denied bail after allegedly holding a knife to his wife’s throat during an argument over her infertility.
According to gardaí, the incident occurred at their home, where Masum slapped his wife, grabbed a large knife, and threatened to kill her, causing a defensive wound.
The victim, who moved to a refuge due to fear, had been isolated by Masum, who controlled her finances and restricted her freedom.
Though Masum denied the allegations and has no criminal record, the judge ruled bail was unjustified due to the severity of the charges and safety concerns.
He remains in custody and is set to appear again on November 28.
