Gerald M. Titus III, a Charleston attorney and former federal prosecutor, has been appointed to West Virginia’s Supreme Court of Appeals by Governor Patrick Morrisey to fill the seat vacated by Justice Tim Armstead, who died in August 2025.
Titus, selected from a list of four candidates recommended by the Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission, will serve until a special election in May 2026, when voters will choose a justice to complete Armstead’s 12-year term.
