Mark Sokolowski sentenced to 7 years for drunk driving crash that killed correctional officer Jeff Reynolds in Dec. 2024.
Mark Sokolowski, 41, of Eau Claire, was sentenced to seven years in prison and seven years of extended supervision for a fatal drunk driving crash on December 24, 2024, that killed Jeff Reynolds, a 56-year-old Dunn County correctional officer.
Sokolowski, who had a blood alcohol level of 0.152, pleaded guilty to homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and failure to stop at a stop sign.
The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on U.S. 12 near Menomonie, killing Reynolds and injuring four others.
The sentencing followed emotional victim impact statements from Reynolds’ family and colleagues, and the court ordered restitution of $84,166.71 and a five-year driver’s license revocation.
