Lindian Resources begins construction on a 90-person camp at its Malawi rare earths project, targeting early 2026 completion.
Lindian Resources has started building the Tipume accommodation camp at its Kangankunde rare earths project in Malawi, a major step toward production.
The camp, set to house 90 personnel, will include air-conditioned rooms, a gym, mess hall, and recreation areas, with civil construction beginning December 15, 2025, and completion expected by early 2026.
The project, one of the world’s largest and highest-grade undeveloped rare earth deposits outside China, features a 45-year mine life and strong economics.
Lindian is using an owner-operator model to cut costs by about 30%, aiming for $8.40 per tonne, and has secured a strategic offtake agreement with Australian firm Iluka Resources.
Site prep is complete, and a $91.5 million capital raise has funded the project’s development.
