Liberia sets 2026–2028 electricity rates: residential stable, others rise or fall, final decision by Dec. 31.
The Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission concluded its final public hearing on November 19, 2025, reviewing the Liberia Electricity Corporation’s proposal for 2026–2028 electricity tariffs.
Residential rates would remain stable at $0.24 per unit, while non-residential rates would rise 9% to $0.24 and industrial rates 5% to $0.20.
Social sector users would see a 13% drop to $0.13.
The review follows nationwide consultations, with LERC now conducting a technical and financial assessment to ensure cost recovery, transparency, and sustainability, with a final decision expected by December 31, 2025, for implementation January 1, 2026.
