GE HealthCare to buy Intelerad for $2.3B to boost AI and cloud imaging tools.
GE HealthCare has agreed to acquire Intelerad, a Chicago-based medical imaging software company, for $2.3 billion in cash, with completion expected in early 2026 pending regulatory approval.
The deal aims to expand GE HealthCare’s cloud-based and AI-powered imaging solutions, especially in outpatient care, supporting its goal to triple its cloud-enabled product portfolio by 2028.
Intelerad’s software, which supports radiology and cardiology workflows, is expected to generate $270 million in annual revenue with 90% recurring and contribute to top-line growth, though it will be slightly dilutive to earnings in the short term.
The acquisition is part of GE HealthCare’s strategy to strengthen its digital health offerings and improve imaging workflows through integrated technology.
