A Christmas tree raffle in Sarnia-Lambton, known as Tamara’s Trees of Hope, is expanding to 11 trees in 2025, up from six in 2023, with about 40 sponsors contributing to a $21,500 prize pool.
Organized by Lori Lumley of Talk for Tamara in memory of her daughter, who died by suicide in 2018, the event runs from November 22 to December 9.
Each themed tree includes gifts like a barbecue, hockey gear, and gift cards, plus a miniature skate ornament honoring Tamara, a provincial figure skating champion.
Tickets cost $5 each, sold at Lambton Mall starting November 22, with draws on December 9.
Proceeds support youth mental health and suicide prevention programs through local organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Sarnia-Lambton Suicide Prevention Committee.
