A Michigan couple charged in federal court for exploiting over 240 undocumented workers across multiple states from 2022 to 2024.
A Michigan couple, Moises and Raquel Orduna-Rios, were charged in federal court for allegedly running a plumbing business that employed over 240 undocumented workers across multiple states from 2022 to 2024, generating about $74 million in revenue.
Authorities say only six of the 253 workers were legally authorized to work, and the couple is accused of harboring, transporting, and exploiting undocumented immigrants for financial gain, including collecting passports and housing workers in overcrowded conditions.
They are scheduled to appear in court in December.
