A new plug-in hybrid version of MG’s large SUV, the S9 PHEV, has been leaked by Euro NCAP, revealing a three-row, front-wheel-drive vehicle with a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine and electric motor, offering up to 120 km of electric range on a 24.7 kWh battery.It shares its platform with the MG QS, sold in Australia since mid-2025, which has recorded 777 sales, surpassing the Nissan Pathfinder and nearing the Skoda Kodiaq.The S9 PHEV earned a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, with strong scores for adult and child protection, though lower marks for vulnerable road users and safety assist.The petrol QS model received a slightly higher five-star rating from ANCAP, which warned against using child seats in the third row due to missing top-tether anchor points.
