The 2026 Community Water Development Fund is now accepting applications from community groups across Ireland, including Louth, Leitrim, and Wexford, to support projects improving water quality in rivers, lakes, streams, and coastal areas.
Funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government, and Heritage and administered by LAWPRO, the program offers grants for initiatives like riparian restoration, invasive species removal, and nature-based flood solutions.
Since 2017, over €1 million in grants have been awarded, with €6,600 going to Leitrim and €22,400 to Wexford in 2025.
Applications close January 20, 2026, and details are available at www.lawaters.ie/cwdf.
