House Republicans suspended Rep. Dan Crenshaw for three months over a controversial Mexico trip involving a sexist toast.
House Republican leaders have suspended Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) from international travel for three months after an August trip to Mexico, where he toasted a crude joke made by a Mexican official that made a woman present uncomfortable.
The incident, which occurred during an alcohol-fueled event, led to a heated meeting with Speaker Mike Johnson and Intelligence Committee Chair Rick Crawford, who pushed for Crenshaw’s removal from the committee but was overruled.
Instead, Johnson disbanded Crenshaw’s cartel task force.
The move follows ongoing tensions over counterintelligence funding and Crenshaw’s public challenges to the administration’s rationale for military actions against suspected drug trafficking vessels.
