Daniel Callihan sentenced to two more life terms for 2023 murders of mother and child in Louisiana and Mississippi.
Daniel Callihan, 38, was sentenced to two additional consecutive life sentences in federal court on November 19, 2025, for the 2023 killings of Callie Brunett and her 4-year-old daughter Erin in Louisiana and Mississippi.
He now faces six life sentences total after prior convictions in state courts.
Prosecutors said he stabbed Brunett 50 times, abducted and suffocated Erin, and attempted to hold another child as a sex slave.
Callihan admitted guilt and expressed remorse in court and in a video, citing mental health struggles.
The victims’ family urged he serve his sentence at Angola Prison in Louisiana, and he was ordered to pay over $250,000 in restitution.
His co-defendant, Victoria Cox, remains in custody and is set to stand trial.
