Crime boss George Marrogi sentenced to one more month in prison for kicking a police officer in Melbourne, Feb 2024.
Crime boss George Marrogi, 36, has been sentenced to an additional month in prison for kicking a police officer during a custody transfer at a Melbourne prison in February 2024.
The assault, captured on video, showed Marrogi forcefully kicking a senior officer in the chest, sending him into a wall.
Magistrate Michelle Hodgson called the attack “quick but brutal.” Marrogi, serving life sentences for murder and drug importation with no release until 2049, pleaded guilty and faces a three-month sentence, with two months running concurrently.
His lawyer cited harsh prison conditions—including solitary confinement and limited contact—as contributing factors, noting Marrogi is pursuing a civil lawsuit against Victoria’s Department of Justice.
The magistrate warned that further misconduct would lead to additional prison time.
