Charles Gray convicted on multiple abuse charges after six-day trial; sentenced Feb. 2, 2026.
Charles Gray, 50, was convicted on multiple charges including first-degree sexual abuse, criminal obstruction of breathing, third-degree assault, and harassment, but acquitted of first-degree kidnapping and second-degree strangulation after a six-day trial in Montgomery County.
The jury, deliberating for just over two and a half hours, reached a unanimous verdict based largely on a 10-hour audio recording from January 22, 2025, capturing alleged threats and abuse in a shared home.
Gray, who showed no reaction to the verdict, will be sentenced on February 2, 2026, and faces up to seven years in prison, 10 years of post-release supervision, and mandatory sex offender registration.
Prosecutors praised the victim’s courage, while defense attorney Ryan Finn argued no kidnapping occurred, citing repeated invitations for the victim to leave.
The Montgomery County District Attorney affirmed the importance of accountability despite the acquittal on kidnapping charges.
